Streets Is Eating
Ever since “Lost - Pilot, Part 2” beat out Spartacus at the 2004 Visual Effects Society Awards for “Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Broadcast Program” I've been – what's the word here – disenchanted with awards shows. The one bright star in a subvert sea of sniveling, snaggletoothed snorklewinkers? Everyone's favorite... the Vendy Awards! That's right, friend: The Third Annual Vendy Awards are on and poppin' this Saturday.
This year's finalists include:
- the Caribbean stylings of Veronica Julien (Veronica's Kitchen)
- Bengali lamb from Muhammed Rahman's Kwik Meal (note: not in any way related to Kwik-E-Mart)
- super tacos from, uh, Super Taco
- the royal goodness of Farez “Freddy” Zeideia p/k/a the King of Falafel and Shawarma
- and last but not least, our favorite vegan ever Thiru "Dosa Man" Kumar from (NY Dosas, profiled in-full here)
To recap...
